This is myself and Godzilla, a female rescue iguana who now lives with Sue Solomon. This iguana had quite a travel path to get to her final destination. She was originally rescued in Cambria, by Meriday Beth’s vet. Meriday then met me along Highway 5 and 101. I took the iguana up to Fremont. Then Marian and I drove her up to the Santa Rosa area, whereupon Sue brought her to her new home in Sacramento.Although this is an extremely cute photo, please do note, which I learned after the fact, that it isn’t a good idea to have an iguana on its back for a length of time, as the weight of the internal organs puts pressure on their lungs, causing the iguana to appear unusually calm. Please refer to IML Digest #1352 for a more indepth explanation by Tricia Powers Godzilla was in this pose for no more than a few minutes.
